TAKE A WALK THROUGH THE CRADLE OF THE U.S. CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT
As a Scout in Troop 151 in the late 1930s, the young Martin Luther King, Jr.’s troop met at Ebenezer Baptist Church. “Sweet Auburn” Avenue, one of the most vibrant and successful African American corridors of the nation in that era, and was his neighborhood. On March 16, 2024, from 8 AM to 12 PM, you are invited to join Scouts to explore this historic neighborhood, hiking past some of the significant places of African American life and the civil rights movement.
