Troop 18 is hosting a Youth Civic Engagement Townhall event on
September 17, 2024
Starting at 7:00 PM
This event will allow Scouting America Scouts to meet Merit Badge requirements and rank advancement requirements and will be a way for youth to meet their County Commissioners and County School board Representative.
This is an evening of Civic Engagement and Community Building! “Learn how you can make a difference in your community!” Children, Teens and Adults are welcome to meet your representatives.

- Whitney McGinnis, District 2 Board of Education Rep
- Michelle Long Spears, District 2 Commissioner
Free parking is available at Emory’s Fishburne deck.
Here is some additional information to get there:
- 1660 North Decatur Road, Decatur is listed as the “Glenn School Building” home to Glenn Memorial Church Offices, Little Chapel, Glenn School for Young Children, Sunday School Classrooms, etc.
- The event itself is to be held in the “Jake Word Fellowship Hall” located on the first floor of the Glenn School Building @ 1660 North Decatur Road, Decatur
- The Fishburne Parking Deck (Free Parking) is to the right of the Glenn School Building.
